HP Designjet 230/250C Printers - Loading Sheet Media

Issue:
When loading sheet media into the printer, a media misalignment error shows on the front panel display (the error and load media begin to flash) or the media jams, which causes the media to tear during the printer’s media alignment sequence.
 note:
If the printer has no legs, it is easier to load media if the printer is positioned at the edge of the table.
Solution
Follow the steps below:
  1. Hold the sheet media by its edges, about a hand’s length from the top left and right corners of the sheet media.
  2. Align the right-hand side of the sheet media with the line of holes on the media entry slot of the printer.
     note:
Pay special attention to step three if the sheet media is wider than ANSI A or A4 size.
  3. Make sure that ALL of the top edge of the sheet media is placed inside the entry slot.
  4. IMPORTANT: While keeping the right-hand side aligned with the holes of the media entry slot, push the sheet media up into the media entry slot until it buckles slightly in one swift and decisive movement. try and keep the angle of the sheet media the same as the angle of the holes of the entry slot. Three things will happen in quick succession:
    1. The sheet media will come up against the media stops.
    2. The sheet media will buckle slightly from being pushed forward.
    3. The printer will start to pull the sheet media.
  5. Let go of the media.
     note:
Once the printer has taken the sheet media, it will push it out again a little way before it feeds it in again to be checked for alignment. Do not touch the sheet media while it is being pushed out, as this would probably misalign the media.
  6. During the media alignment sequence, the ready light is blinking. Once the ready light stays on solid, the printer is ready to receive data.
