HP Printers - Printing from Android Smartphones or Tablets

This document is for HP network printers and Android devices.
Print photos, documents, webpages, and emails from your Android smartphone or tablet to your HP network printer using the HP Print Service Plugin, a free app available in the Google Play Store.
Step 1: Connect your Android device to the same network as the printer
Confirm that your smartphone or tablet and the printer are connected to the same network.
  1. On your Android device, open the Wi-Fi settings and make sure the device is connected to the same network as the printer.
  2. Make sure the printer is connected to the wireless or wired (Ethernet) network with an active Internet connection.
    • If your printer is connected with a wired (Ethernet) connection, check the cable and the lights on the printer Ethernet port. The green link light should be steady, and the orange activity light should blink when the cable is connected.
    • If your printer is connected with a wireless connection, make sure the wireless feature is on and the printer is connected to the same network as your mobile device.
Some printers have a wireless icon and a blue light on the front of the printer. Make sure the light is on and not blinking, if your printer has a wireless icon.
