This document is for HP printers that are currently supported in the Windows 7 operating system. All HP printers released after the Windows 7 release date are supported.

Looking for the driver for your printer?
If you already set up the printer and are just looking for the driver to download, select one of the following methods to download and install the driver.
Method one: Download the software with the HP Printer Install Wizard (recommended)
The HP Printer Install Wizard quickly and easily finds the best Windows 7 print driver for your printer. Click the following link to download and run the HP Printer Install Wizard.
If you are using a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer, wait until the on-screen instructions prompt you to connect it. HP recommends using a USB cable that is less than 3 m (10 ft) long.
note:The HP Printer Install Wizard is not available for all printers.
Method two: Download the software from the HP website
Follow these steps to download and install the driver and software for your printer.
note:If you are using a USB cable to connect the printer to the computer, wait until the on-screen instructions prompt you to connect it. HP recommends using a USB cable that is less than 3 m (10 ft) long.
Turn on the printer.
Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer (if you already connected it). If the printer is connected to your network, leave it connected.
Use one of the available methods to identify your printer model.The software and driver results page displays when the printer model is identified.Figure : Example of the Software and driver results page
Check to see if your operating system is correctly identified. If your operating system is not correct, click Edit, select your operating system and version from the drop-down menus, and then click Update.
Click Driver - Product Installation Software, and then click Download.
If an HP Download and Install Assistant window displays, select Use HP Download and Install Assistant (Recommended) or Download only, and then click Next.Figure : Example of the HP Download and Install Assistant window
Follow the on-screen instructions to save the driver to your computer.
If you used the Download only method, open or run the driver file, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
