Do I Need to Use a Registry Cleaner?
Some products available on the Internet suggest that the Windows Registry needs regular maintenance or cleaning. However, use extreme caution when installing and using a registry cleaner. Some registry cleaners might not recognize valid registry entries and cause errors when they delete those keys and values. This can cause more errors and prevent other programs from working.
To prevent these errors from occurring, make sure that registry cleaning and spyware removal utilities do not remove files and registry entries associated with your installed software. Instead, if you no longer use a particular software title and want to remove references from the registry, remove the software by using the Add or Remove Programs tool in Control Panel. The software uninstaller removes the associated entries from the registry.
If you decide to install a registry cleaner, be sure to research the product thoroughly, and then download and install programs only from software publishers that you trust .
