HP Touchpoint Manager - Creating and Managing Groups in HP Touchpoint Manager

An IT administrator can apply settings to all users and/or devices in a group. You can view group details, and groups can be edited, cloned, or deleted.
Default groups include the following:
  • Devices: Includes all enrolled devices.
  • Users: Includes all enrolled users
An IT administrator can also create additional groups of users or devices, depending on the subscription level.
  • Basic Subscription: User groups can be created for Mobile App Catalog. Device groups can be created for Security Profiles
  • Pro Subscription: User groups can be created for Mobile App Catalog. Device groups can be created for Security, Find Device, Remote Control, and Wireless Connection.
Creating a new Group
Use the following steps to create a new group.
  1. Log onto HP Touchpoint Manager: http://www.hptouchpointmanager.com.
  2. Select Groups on the HP Touchpoint Manager menu bar.

  3. Select Create New, and then select User Group or Device Group from the drop-down menu.

  4. Under Description, enter a name and brief description for the Group, and then select Next.

  5. Under Settings, select a service, select the settings that you want, and then select Next.

  6. Under Devices, select the check box beside each device to be included in the group, and then select Finish.

Editing a Group
An IT administrator can edit an existing Group. Use the following steps.
  1. Log onto HP Touchpoint Manager: http://www.hptouchpointmanager.com.
  2. Select Groups on the HP Touchpoint Manager menu bar.

  3. Select the Group you want to edit, and select Edit from the drop-down menu.

  4. When the Group opens, make the necessary edits, and then select Finish.
Cloning a Group
An IT administrator can clone a Group to make an exact copy of the existing group, which can then be used as the basis for a new Group. Use the following steps.
  1. Log onto HP Touchpoint Manager: http://www.hptouchpointmanager.com.
  2. Select Groups on the HP Touchpoint Manager menu bar.

  3. Select the Group you want to clone and select Clone from the drop-down menu.

  4. When the Group opens, make the necessary edits to the cloned Group, and rename the Group if desired.

  5. When done editing, select Next.

  6. Search and make new selections for the Group, and then select Finish. Then select Finish.

Deleting a Group
Deleting a Group allows the IT Administrator to remove a Group from the account. The default Groups cannot be deleted.
  1. Log onto HP Touchpoint Manager: http://www.hptouchpointmanager.com.
  2. Select Groups on the HP Touchpoint Manager menu bar.

  3. Select the Group you want to delete and select Delete from the drop-down menu.

  4. Select OK to confirm the deletion.

     note:
    Users in the deleted group are not deleted from HP Touchpoint Manager. The members of the group are moved to the Default Devices or the Default Users Group.
Viewing the Group details
Use the following steps.
  1. Log onto HP Touchpoint Manager: http://www.hptouchpointmanager.com.
  2. Select Groups on the HP Touchpoint Manager menu bar.

  3. Select the Group you want to view, and then select Details from the drop-down menu.

    The following information is displayed about the selected group:
    • Settings: Displays group name, type, settings, and status
    • Users: Displays user names, group name, and job title
    • Devices: Displays device manufacturer, and model number, owner, and operating system
  4. When you finish viewing the Group details, select Done.
