HP Photosmart 7510, 7515, ENVY 110, 114 Printers - Restoring eFax Service

This document is for HP Photosmart 7510 and 7515, and ENVY 110 and 114 e-All-in-One printers.
To enable the eFax service, a firmware update is required.
This update only restores eFax functionality. It does not provide any other benefits or improvements, and should only be applied to restore eFax service.
Step 1: Prepare for the firmware update
The following items are required to complete the update:
  • A compressed .ZIP file downloaded from HP servers (completed in the next step)
  • A memory card (Photosmart 7510/7515), or memory card or USB flash drive (ENVY 110/114) that is supported by your printer. Go to What memory cards does my printer support? for a list of compatible devices
  • Your eFax account login information: eFax phone number and eFax PIN
If you do not remember your eFax phone number or eFax PIN, you can use the email address you used to set up your eFax account to recover your login information
  • A wireless network with an active Internet connection
  • Your Photosmart 7510 or 7515 printer, or ENVY 110 or 114 printer
Step 2: Download and then copy the update file to a memory device

Step 3: Make sure that Web Services is enabled
Web Services must be enabled on your printer to complete the firmware update.
  1. Make sure your printer is connected to your wireless network.
  2. Touch the Web Services icon () on the printer control panel.
  3. Make sure the Web Services screen indicates that Web Services and ePrint are enabled.
    • If Web Services is not enabled, touch Settings, and then touch Enable Web Services.
    • If ePrint is not enabled, touch Settings, and then touch the option to turn on ePrint.
     note:
A Web Services info sheet might print shortly after you enable Web Services. You do not need to take any action with that info sheet for the eFax service to work.
Step 4: Install the firmware update
Install the firmware update using the update file on your memory card.
Step 5: Make sure that the update installed successfully
Confirm that the firmware update installed successfully, and then make sure that Web Services is enabled.
  1. Touch the Help button () on the printer control panel.
  2. Scroll down, and then touch About.
  3. You should see Firmware revision version: 151210.
    • If you see a different version, make sure that you are connected to your wireless network, that you have Internet access, that Web Services is enabled, and then try the update again.
      1. Touch the Web Services icon () on the printer control panel.
      2. Make sure the Web Services screen indicates that Web Services and ePrint are enabled.
        • If Web Services is not enabled, touch Settings, and then touch Enable Web Services.
        • If ePrint is not enabled, touch Settings, and then touch the option to turn on ePrint.

    • If the firmware version is correct and Web Services and ePrint are enabled, you can resume using the eFax service.
Log in to your eFax account on your printer using your eFax phone number and your eFax login PIN.
       note:
