HP Printers - Using Google Cloud Print with Your HP Printer

This document is for network-connected HP printers and computers with Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, OS X v10.11 El Capitan, OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.9 Mavericks, OS X v10.8 Mountain Lion, Linux, or Chrome.
Google Cloud Print is a free service that allows you to print documents and photos securely from any mobile or network-connected device (such as a computer, phone, tablet, or other mobile device) to your printer.
You do not need to download any drivers or software from the HP website or Google to print with Google Cloud Print.
Step 1: Register your Google Cloud Print Ready printer
Register your printer with Google Cloud Print through the Chrome browser on any computer or Chromebook.
 note:
For LaserJet printers, make sure the firmware is up to date before using Google Cloud Print. Print a configuration page to confirm your firmware version supports the service.
  • HP LaserJet Pro printers: On the printer control panel, open the Network Menu and select Report to print a Network Summary. If the firmware version is not 3.5 or later, update the firmware.
  • HP LaserJet Enterprise printers: On the printer control panel, scroll to Administration, select Reports, select Configuration/Status Pages, select Configuration page, then select Print. If the firmware version is not 20150410 or later, update the firmware.
  1. Make sure you have the following items:
    • A computer running Chrome, Linux, OS X v10.7 or later, or Windows XP or later, or Chromebook
    • Google Chrome browser installed on the computer
    • A Google account
    • A Google Cloud Print Ready printer connected to the same network as your computer with an active Internet connection
       note:
If you connect your printer with a USB cable, Google Cloud Print does not work.
  2. Turn on your printer.
  3. Open the Chrome browser , then sign in to your Google account.
  4. Click the Chrome menu icon , then select Settings from the drop-down menu.
  5. In the Settings window, scroll down and select Show advanced settings....
  6. Scroll down to Google Cloud Print, then click the Manage button.
Google Cloud Print detects any printers on the network.
    • If your printer is listed under New devices, click Register, then click Register again to confirm and print a confirmation page. For some printers, you might be prompted to complete the registration from the printer control panel.
    • If your printer is listed under My devices, your printer is already registered with Google Cloud Print. Click Manage to view your registered Google Cloud Print printers.
    • If your printer is not listed, make sure your printer is connected to the network or try connecting with your printer's email address. Go to Setting Up and Using HP ePrint to learn how to set up the HP ePrint service. Next, go to Connect Your HP Printer with Google Cloud Print to register your printer using the email address that HP ePrint assigned to the printer.
Step 2: Print from your computer or mobile device
Print documents, email, images, and web pages from your computer or mobile device using Google Cloud Print.
