JetSend for Pocket PC - Installation Instructions

Minimum requirements for installation
The following table lists minimum hardware and software requirements for installing JetSend for Pocket PC software on your mobile device.
Mobile device
Memory: 4 MB of total memory. 1300 KB of storage memory for Pocket PCs. Synchronization: Must be docked with a host desktop computer. (The procedure for docking varies with device; see the device documentation.) Pocket PC or greater. Infrared capability: Infrared Data Association (IrDA) 1.2. FIR (Fast Infrared) transfer speed is recommended for best performance.
Desktop computer
Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, or Windows 2000. ActiveSync 3.0. JetSend for Pocket PC software.
Install JetSend for Pocket PC
  1. Download the JetSend for Pocket PC software setup program from the JetSend Web site to your desktop computer.
  2. Turn your mobile device on, save all work and quit all programs. Uninstall any previous version of JetSend for Pocket PC software.
  3. Establish a connection between the mobile device and desktop computer. Docking procedures vary from device to device. Check the device documentation for details. The mobile device and desktop computer must be linked.
  4. On your desktop computer, click Start, and then click Run.
  5. Click Browse and select the setup program for JetSend for Pocket PC.
  6. Click OK to start the setup program.
  7. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  8. On the desktop computer, click Finish when the setup program has completed. You do not need to restart the desktop computer or the mobile device.
Try JetSend for Pocket PC software by sending to a JetSend enabled infrared printer ( for supported devices)
  1. Turn your mobile device on and select Start, Programs, JetSend, and Exchanger. The default My Documents folder appears.
  2. Select a JetSend supported file from the folder (.TXT, .JPG, .JSF (JetSend), .BMP, .GIF).
  3. Make sure the receiving infrared printer is turned on and ready to accept your exchange.
  4. Point the infrared port on your mobile device at the infrared port on the receiving printer.

    • The two devices must be within 1 meter (3 feet) of each other, but no closer than 5.08 cm (2 inches).
    • The infrared ports of the two devices must be lined up within a 30-degree angle of each other.
    • There must be no obstacles between the infrared ports of the two devices.
  5. On the mobile device, drag the file you want to print to the Infrared icon on the right side of the screen.
