HP Designjet 10/20ps - Mac OS: Unable to Print Separation from Quark
When attempting to print color separations from QuarkXPress to the HP Designjet 10ps or 20ps, the job prints as a composite print instead of separations. The job will preview as separations in the RIP, but there will be six pages/layers. When the job is printed, all of the layers will be combined back into the composite page. For jobs with greater than six planes (spot-color separations) only six layers are included in the actual output.
The File Type that appears in the RIP is Pre-separated PDF, PS instead of PostScript, like other print jobs.
There is no solution at this time. This issue is under investigation.
Export the job as an EPS and print the separations from another application (Illustrator, for instance).
