Below are some suggestions for solving problems that may occur with the HP Designjet 500 plotter while configuring it with an HP Jetdirect print server.
HP Jetdirect Print Servers - Designjet 500, 61:05 Error Processing Job or the Designjet Does Not Print HP-GL/2 Files
61:05 Error processing job with external HP Jetdirect
The 61:05 Error Processing Job system error indicates that there is a communication problem and the printer was not able to process the job that was sent to it. Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the error.
caution:The HP Designjet 500 without the PostScript (R) and HP-GL/2 option will only print HP-PCL3-GUI.
Verify that the external HP Jetdirect is connected to the network before it is connected to the printer, or that the printer remains turned off until the external Jetdirect has been connected to the network.
note:The HP Designjet 500 will not print a configuration page, unless the printer has a HP-GL/2 accessory card installed.
The print driver being used needs to correspond to the printer’s model. See Driver Language for more information.
Upgrade the printer firmware if it is earlier than A.00.06.
note:The printer driver being used must exactly correspond to the printer model. See Figure 1.
