HP 49g Series and 48gII Calculator - Overview and Features

The HP calculator offers 3D graphing, notes, and lists in an RPN-capable graphing calculator. It is a scientific, programmable, graphing calculator for professionals in math, science, and engineering.

  • 131 x 64 pixel high contrast display (131 x 80 for the HP 49g+)
  • RPN, assembly, and HP basic entry system logic
Memory features
Memory features for the HP 49g series include the following:
  • Over 2300 built-in functions
  • 5 MB of memory (512 KB RAM and 1 MB Flash ROM for data storage)
    Memory features for the HP 48g II include the following:

Dynamic algebra and calculus features
The Computer Algebra System (CAS) offers both dynamic symbolic manipulation and symbolic and numeric solving. The CAS also offers a step-by-step mode for dynamic derivation, integration, and linear-algebraic problem solving, which displays all the steps and results in textbook mode.
Editing features
The editor edits expressions, text, graphs, and programs and includes the following options:

  • 2D/3D plotting with tracing and zooming capabilities
Statistical inferences
The calculator performs hypothesis tests and measures confidence intervals that relate to a population. It allows inputting, viewing, and editing sample data in table format similar to a computer spreadsheet or table and plots the results.
