HP Palmtops and Jornadas - Uninstalling Microsoft® ActiveSync

Introduction
This document provides the steps needed to uninstall Microsoft ActiveSync in Microsoft Windows 98, 98 SE, Me, and XP. Follow the steps below for the appropriate operating system.
Windows 98, 98Se, and Me
To uninstall Microsoft ActiveSync on a PC running Microsoft Windows 98, 98 SE, or Me, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, Settings, and then Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
  3. From the list of available software titles, select Microsoft ActiveSync, and then click Add/Remove.
  4. A message will appear asking "would you like to delete the synchronized files folder created on your desktop?" Click Yes, or follow the instructions displayed, to remove the software.
  5. Restart the desktop computer (whether prompted to or not).
Windows XP
To uninstall Microsoft ActiveSync on a PC running Microsoft Windows XP, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Add/Remove Programs, and then click Change/Remove.
  3. From the list of available software titles, select Microsoft ActiveSync, and then click Change/Remove.
  4. A message will appear asking "would you like to delete the synchronized files folder created on your desktop?" Click Yes, or follow the instructions displayed to remove the software.
  5. Restart the desktop computer (whether prompted to or not).
