Soft reset
Perform a soft reset after restoring data from a backup file or when the palm-sized computer appears to be “frozen” or “locked up”.
 note:
When you perform a soft reset, you lose unsaved data in all open documents or programs. To close all open documents and programs, use the Task Manager. On the Start menu, tap Settings, tap System, and then select the Task Manager tab.
To perform a soft reset, use the stylus to press the Reset button on the back of the palm-sized computer.

  2. Select Use reserve battery power.
  3. Tap OK to save the changes and exit, or tap the Close button (X in the upper right corner) to abandon the changes.
     note:
The "Use reserve battery power" allows your HP Jornada 430/430se Palm-size computer to use up more of the battery reserve power. This power is normally reserved for retaining your data after the palm-size computer has reached a “very low” battery status. Enabling the "Use reserve battery power" check box option reduces the data retention period from 14 days to approximately 7 days.
