HP 300LX Series Palmtop PCs - Dialing String Limitations of the HP 300LX Series
The Remote Networking does not automatically dial all of the numbers when you use a calling card number or long distance access number.
Remote Networking cannot automatically dial more than 32 characters (including commas) at a time. To work around this problem, manually dial the number following these steps:
Choose Start, Programs, and then double-click the Communication folder.
Double-click the Remote Networking folder, then highlight the connection that will be set up for manual dialing.
Select File, and then the Properties button on the toolbar.
Select Configure, and choose the Manual Dial check box to select it. Choose OK, and then choose OK again.
Connect the modem, then double-click icon for the connection.
When Connect is tapped, a Manual Dial Terminal window is displayed. Type the entire dialing string, including special characters, commands, pauses, etc., using the following format:ATDT <dialing string>For example:ATDT918002608304,,,,5555555555,,,55555555551234
Log in according to the requirements of the Internet service provider (ISP), then tap OK. In a few seconds, a status message will appear to indicate that the connection has been established.
