HP Digital Home Networking - Uninstalling the Gateway (hn200x)

Introduction
Follow the instructions in either method outlined in this document to uninstall the Gateway. The software for the Gateway cannot be reinstalled until it has first been removed (uninstalled) from the system.
Method 1
  1. With the computer on, insert the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive of the computer that is connected to your broadband (DSL or cable) modem.
  2. The HP welcome screen will appear. (See Figure 1.) Click Installation.
     note:
    If this screen does not Autorun, double-click My Computer. Right-click Compact Disc. Then click AutoPlay to launch the installed program.

  3. The installshield wizard screen will appear for a few seconds, then the Program Maintenance screen will appear asking whether to repair or remove the program. (See Figure 2.)

  4. Check Remove HP Digital Home Networking from your computer.
  5. Click Next.
  6. The Remove Program screen will appear (See Figure 3.)

  7. Click Remove. It will show a "preparing to install" screen for a few seconds while it removes the files.
  8. The Software Complete screen will appear. (See Figure 4.) Click OK.

  9. A message will appear asking to restart the system for the changes to take effect. Click Yes, and the system will restart.
  10. Once Windows is open again, the Gateway software has been successfully uninstalled.
Method 2 - An alternate method of uninstalling
  1. Click Start, scroll to Settings, and click Control Panel. (See Figure 5.)

  2. The Control Panel will open. Double-click Add/Remove Programs. (See Figure 6.)

  3. The Add/Remove Programs screen will open (See Figure 7.) It may look slightly different than what is pictured, depending on the version of Windows.

  4. Scroll to HP Digital Home Networking, and click the Remove button or the Add/Remove button (depending on the version of Windows).
  5. A message will pop up asking if you're sure you want to remove the software. Click Yes. (See Figure 8.)

  6. It will show a "preparing to install" screen for a few seconds while it removes the files.
  7. A message will appear asking to restart the system for the changes to take effect. Click Yes, and the system will restart.
  8. Once Windows is open again, the Gateway software has been successfully uninstalled.
