Standalone version only: Make sure that the power supply (19 Vdc) included with your product is marked with the correct AC voltage and frequency for your country.
Verify that power is not connected to the CD-ROM server or any of the CD-ROM drives when making changes to the SCSI cables. The SCSI bus could be damaged if you connect or disconnect any units when the power is on.
If you have not already done so, record the LAN hardware (MAC) address of the CD-ROM server. You will need this address during installation. The address is printed on the label placed on the bottom of the server, in the form 00-60-B0-hh-hh-hh (where h is a hexadecimal number).
Verify with your network administrator that a network connection is set up to connect the CD-ROM server and configure it to the network.
If you are connecting a second tower (C2988A) to a previously installed Server/Tower 7Plus: To install or add a second 7-bay Tower to a server/tower that has already been installed (J3278A CD-ROM Server/Tower 7Plus), you must switch off power to the Server/Tower before adding the second tower. See the section titled, "Steps to Connect the Towers" in the User’s Guide.
