HP Business Inkjet 2200 and 2250 Series Printers - False Out of Ink or 441 Error Message

Issue:
A false Out of Ink message or error 441 appears in the LCD of the printer.
Solution
Follow the steps below to troubleshoot the error:
  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Turn on the printer. If the error persists, COLD RESET the printer by following the steps below:
    1. Turn off the printer.
    2. Hold down the RESUME button and turn on the printer. The LCD on the printer will show initializing, followed shortly by COLD RESET, and then READY.
  3. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 persists, open the cartridge and printhead access door.
  4. Remove the cartridges and printheads.
  5. Close the cartridge and printhead access doors.
  6. Turn off and then turn on the printer. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 occurs, the printer is faulty and requires repair. Contact HP Customer Care to arrange to have the printer returned to HP for repair.   7. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 does not occur, open the cartridge and printhead access door.
  8. Install the printheads.
  9. Close the cartridge and printhead access doors.
  10. Turn off and then turn on the printer.
  11. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 occurs, one of the printheads may be causing the error. Test each printhead individually and replace the faulty printhead.
  12. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 does not occur, open the cartridge and printhead access door.
  13. Install the ink cartridges.
  14. Close the cartridge and printhead access doors.
  15. Turn off and then turn on the printer.
  16. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 occurs, one of the ink cartridges may be causing the error. Test each ink cartridge individually and replace the faulty ink cartridge.
  17. If the false Out of Ink message or error 441 persists, the printer will require service. Contact HP Customer Care to arrange to have the printer returned to HP for repair.
