The HP Business Inkjet 2200/2250 series printers do not require scheduled maintenance. Periodic cleaning, however, will enhance the looks and maintain the condition of the printer. Cleaning the printer may also make it easier to diagnose a problem.
HP Business Inkjet 2200 and 2250 Series Printer - How to Clean the Printer
Cleaning the printer
Clean the exterior of the printer with a soft cloth moistened with water to remove dust, smudges, and stains. A mild detergent may be used if necessary to clean the exterior. Platen cleaners or alcohol may damage the printer and should not be used.
All inkjet printers produce a small amount of ink residue that may build up inside the case of the printer. This is normal and there is no need to clean this residue.
Accumulations of paper, dust, or lint should be carefully removed by brushing the loose material onto a cloth or by using a small computer vacuum cleaner.
caution:Do not use a powerful vacuum cleaner such as a shop vacuum or compressed air to remove dust from the printer. This can cause Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) damage.
caution:Do not clean or lubricate the carriage rod. Cleaning or lubricating the rod may reduce its life. The carriage rod is the shaft inside the printer that the printheads move back and forth on. Any ink present on the rod will not hinder the operation of the printer.
