The HP 2000C Professional Series Color Printer does not require scheduled maintenance. Periodic cleaning, however, will enhance the printer's looks and maintain its condition. Cleaning may also make it easier to diagnose a problem.
HP 2000C Professional Series Color Printers - How to Clean the Printer
Cleaning the Printer
Clean the exterior of the printer with a soft cloth moistened with water to remove dust, smudges, stains, etc. A mild detergent may be used if necessary to clean the exterior. Platen cleaners or alcohol may damage the printer and should not be used.
All inkjet printers produce a small amount of ink residue that may build up inside the printer's case. This is normal. There is no need to clean this residue.
Accumulations of paper dust or lint should be carefully removed by brushing the loose material onto a cloth or by using a small computer vacuum cleaner.
caution:Do not use a powerful vacuum cleaner such as a shop vacuum or compressed air to remove dust from the printer. This can cause ESD problems.
caution:Do not clean or lubricate the carriage rod. Cleaning or lubricating the rod may reduce its life. The carriage rod is the shaft inside the printer that the printheads move back and forth on. Any ink present on the rod will not hinder the operation of the printer.
