Battery information
For maximum portability, it is permissible to operate the HP Deskjet 310 printer with an HP 6-volt 1.2 AH nickel-cadmium battery. The printer also operates with the one-hour Panasonic battery pack. The printer prints approximately 100 pages using a fully charged battery.
  • Sleep Mode: When operating on battery power, the printer goes to a power-saving sleep mode after two minutes of inactivity. While in sleep mode, the Power light is dimmed and all other lights are off. Pressing the Power button turns the printer off. Press any other button to "wake up" the printer. The printer also "wakes up" when it receives data to be printed. If the printer is left in sleep mode for 15 minutes, the printer turns itself off.
  • Battery Charge Level: When installing a battery pack, the printer can determine its charge level only if it is a fully charged or completely discharged. The printer can then monitor the battery pack’s charge level as long as it remains in the printer. Leave the battery pack in the printer if the printer will not be used in battery mode for more than a month. If installing a partially charged battery pack, the printer will not be able to determine its exact charge level. The printer will estimate the charge level as ".25"
  • Low Battery Warning: The Power indicator starts blinking when the battery charge level is low. The printer can then print about five more pages (black printing).
