When cleaning the capping station, keep hands away from the printer’s encoder strip (gray strip extending across the Carriage path) as the edges are sharp.
While the printhead carriage is in the center of the printer, locate the capping station area on the left-hand side of the printer.
On the top surface area of the capping station, locate the four small rectangular rubber boots and rubber wipers.
Lightly dampen a lint-free cloth or foam swab with warm water. Never drip water into the printer.
Gently wipe each rubber boot and wiper until no further ink residue appears on the cleaning cloth or swab.
Wait until all the cleaned parts are dry before re-installing to the carriage.
Once all components are clean and dry. Reinsert the print cartridges and turn the power on. Once the plotter completes the initialization process, if the cleaning process has been successful, all print cartridges should be recognized. If an individual print cartridge continues not to initialize, replace the used print cartridge with a new print cartridge.
When installing a new print cartridge, ensure that the expiration date, printed on the outside of the cartridge package, is at least six months to a year into the future.
