HP Designjet 750C and 755CM Printers - Scanning Resolution of an Image to Be Printed at a Later Time
When scanning an image to be printed later on a HP Designjet 750C or 755CM printer, what scanning resolution should be used?
Use the guidelines provided below:
To print large pages (e.g. ANSI D or E, ARCH D or E) the image resolution should not exceed 73 dpi (larger values will result in unnecessary information). Smaller values will work but will be dependent on the detail present on the image.
Avoid using resolutions less than 21 dpi.
Best results will be achieved with resolution values that are multiples of three.
To print smaller sizes (e.g. 8.5 x 11 inch), you may need a greater resolution, up to 150 dpi, again depending on the detail present on the image.
If using a scaling factor, because the image is smaller than the desired final print size wanted, the numbers given above should be multiplied by the scaling factor.
note:For example, if the image is ANSI A and you want an ANSI E size plot, multiply the recommended resolution by the scaling factor, which in this case is four. That is, four times bigger in each dimension. Maximum resolution based on the above limitations would be of 73 x 4 = 292 dpi.
