HP Designjet Printers - How to Obtain Drivers for Windows NT 3.51

Issue:
Where to find a printer driver for the HP Designjet series for Windows NT 3.51.
Solution
The original HP Designjet, HP Designjet 200, HP Designjet 600, and HP Designjet 650C drivers are built into Windows NT 3.51. The HP Designjet 220 printer uses the HP Designjet 200 driver. Select the driver that matches the printer description and model number. For the HP Designjet 220 D-size printer (C3187A), use the HP Designjet 200 (C3180A). Use the HP Designjet 200 (C3181A) for an E-size HP Designjet 220 (C3188A) printer. These files are on your Windows NT 3.51 installation disk and you will be asked for these when creating a printer.
The HP Designjet 230, HP Designjet 250, HP Designjet 330, HP Designjet 350, HP Designjet 750 and HP Designjet 755CM drivers can be ordered from Microsoft (R) at 1-800-426-9400 or downloaded from various sites. The file to download will vary depending on the platform Windows is running on. The platform is the processor that your CPU uses (Intel x86, Alpha, MIPS or PPC).

  5. If downloading to a floppy disk, or hard disk drive:
    1. Use a formatted, blank disk (copy files to the root directory of the floppy disk).
    2. If downloading to the hard disk, create a new sub-directory in which to place the files.

    3. Follow the downloading procedure used by your downloading service.
    4. Download the EXE file to your floppy disk or to the new sub-directory you created on the hard disk.
    5. Change to the floppy disk drive (or the sub-directory on your hard disk) that contains the EXE file. At the MS-DOS (R) prompt, type the filename, and press ENTER.
    6. When the EXE file finishes running, all the files you need to support the device, such as a DRV file and an OEMSETUP.INF file, are set up.
    7. A TXT file that contains instructions for installing the device drivers (or other software) and a licensing agreement is also downloaded.
