HP Omni 27-10xx All-in-One PCs - Cannot Complete Setup of Wireless Mouse and Keyboard

This document applies only to HP Omni 27-10xx All-in-One PCs.
The Quick Setup Guide for the HP Omni 27-10xx computers indicates that you need to install the wireless receiver on your computer. However, the wireless receiver is already installed on your computer. You do not need to install a wireless receiver.
The wireless receiver is located on the back of your computer, in the lower right corner, covered by a hard plastic tab.

Connecting the wireless mouse and keyboard
If the wireless mouse and keyboard do not work after you set up the computer and turn it on, follow these steps to connect the mouse and keyboard.
Step one: Remove and replace the wireless receiver
Follow these steps to remove and replace the wireless receiver.
  1. Make sure that the computer is on.
  2. Squeeze the top of the wireless receiver cover, and then pull down to remove it.
     note:
    You might need to use a small screwdriver as leverage to remove the cover. Be careful to avoid damaging the cover or the back of the computer.

  3. Remove the wireless receiver.

  4. Replace the wireless receiver. Do not replace the cover at this time.

Step two: Connect the wireless mouse
Follow these steps to connect the wireless mouse.
  1. Make sure that the wireless mouse is on. The power switch is located on the bottom of the mouse, and it should be in the On position.

    3. Connect button for the wireless keyboard
  2. Hold the wireless mouse level with and approximately 30 cm (12 in) from the wireless receiver.
  3. Press and hold the Connect button until the blue LED light on the wireless receiver blinks and then turns off. This usually takes about 10 seconds.
     note:
    The receiver connection session times out after 60 seconds. If synchronization does not occur within that time, release the Connect button and repeat steps 2 and 3.
  4. Test the wireless mouse by moving it normally and making sure that the cursor on the screen moves correctly.
Step three: Connect the wireless keyboard
Follow these steps to connect the wireless keyboard.
  1. Hold the wireless keyboard level with and approximately 30 cm (12 in) from the wireless receiver.
  2. Press and hold the Connect button until the blue LED light on the wireless receiver blinks and then turns off. This usually takes about 10 seconds.
     note:
    The receiver connection session times out after 60 seconds. If synchronization does not occur within that time, release the Connect button and repeat steps 1 and 2.
  3. Test the wireless keyboard by typing and making sure that the characters appear on the screen.
