Samsung Multifunction Laser Printers - Scan using Scan Assistant in macOS

To scan with a Samsung Multifunction Laser Printer in macOS, use either the Easy Printer Manager or the Scan Assistant app.
  1. Download Easy Printer Manager. Scan Assistant scan software is part of Easy Printer Manager.
    note:
    Scan Assistant scan software is part of Easy Printer Manager.
    1. Go to Software and Driver and search for the printer model.
    2. Under the Software tab, find and download Easy Printer Manager.
    3. Install the scan driver.
  2. On your Mac computer, open Scan Assistant.
    1. Click the Easy Printer Manager icon in the dock.
    2. Click the Scan button.
To scan using Scan Assistant on a Mac computer running Mac OS X, follow these steps:
  1. Make sure that the latest print and scan drivers are installed.
    To view the latest scan driver version, go to Software and Drivers.
  2. On your Mac computer, click the Easy Printer Manager icon in the dock.

  3. Click the Scan button to open Scan Assistant.
    note:
    If the Scan button is grayed out, make sure to select the correct printer and ensure that the Scan Assistant software is downloaded.
  4. Scan using Samsung Easy Printer Manager.

  5. On the Scan Assistant screen in the basic mode, modify the default Scan Settings and Preference options, if desired.
    • Scan Setting options:
      • Image Type
      • Resolution
      • Scan Size
      • Document Source
      • Pages to Scan
    • Preference options:
      • Auto-crop image after preview
      • Preview on program start
      • Blank page detection

  6. To view more setting options, click Advanced, and then select an option for the following advanced settings:
    • Image adjustment
      • Auto crop
      • Auto straighten
      • Auto rotation

      • Background removal
      • Descreen
      • Auto exposure
      • Auto color balance

    • Additional settings
      • Poster stitch
      • Book scan
      • Watermark

  7. Click Preview to view the image before scanning and saving, or, click Scan to scan an image with the modified scan settings.

  8. Select the desired file settings to save the scanned image file.
    Type a file name, and then select a file format from the Save file format drop-down list.

  9. Click Save to ensure the desired changes are saved.
note:
If scanning does not work or if the software cannot find the scanner, make sure to download the latest driver and software.
