The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps you review, diagnose, and resolve common printing, scanning, and connectivity issues, including:
Hardware issues: Resolve issues such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, paper feed issues, and view details about your printer such as firmware and software version, serial number, page count, printhead information, and warranty status.
Network connection issues: Diagnose and resolve USB or network connection issues and find network settings.
Print quality issues: Resolve issues with faded, streaked, or unwanted lines in printouts, initiate automated cartridge and printhead cleanings, or check ink levels.
Scanning issues: Resolve scanning issues, check the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.
