HP Designjet Printers - Proving Large Format Page Size Functionality in Windows 95 or 98

Issue:
Unable to access large format page sizes in various Windows 95 applications using the Hewlett-Packard (HPGL/2 and HPRTL) Driver for Windows 95.
 note:
Not all Windows 95 applications support large format page sizes.
Solution
In order to prove functionality of the printer's/driver's ability to print large format page sizes, use MS WordPad, which is provided under the accessories menu in Windows 95. WordPad supports all page sizes up to Arch E (36-inch x 48-inch). It is recommended to use a large font (72pt) to cover the entire page. To accomplish this, follow the steps that are listed below.
  1. Choose Start, Programs, Accessories, and WordPad.
  2. Once WordPad is open, type an adequate amount of text.
  3. Highlight all of the text.
  4. Choose Format.
  5. Choose font and size 72.
  6. Choose OK.
  7. Choose File and Page Setup.
  8. Choose Printer.
  9. Select the proper HP DesignJet printer model.
  10. Choose Properties and change the paper size to Arch E, 36 x 48.
  11. Choose OK three times.
  12. Go to File, Print (make sure that the HP DesignJet printer is listed).
  13. Choose OK.
