HP printers - Extra pages with unwanted text print when connected with USB (Windows)

After plugging a USB cable into a Windows computer or printing over a USB connection, extra pages with unwanted text print.

As a workaround, disconnect the USB cable, and then install the full feature software.

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer, and then remove any extra paper from the input tray.

  2. Go to HP Software and Driver Downloads, click Printers, and then search your printer model.

  3. Download and run HP Easy Start or the full feature software.

  4. If prompted during the installation, connect a USB cable to your printer.

  5. For HP Easy Start, follow the instructions until prompted to choose a software solution for your printer, and then select Full Software and Drivers.

  6. Click Continue, and then finish the setup instructions.

  7. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer, and then press the Power button to turn off the printer.

  8. In Windows, search for and open Printers & scanners.

  9. Look for and select the name of your printer in the list.

  10. Click Remove or Remove Device > Yes.

  11. Turn on the printer, and then reconnect the USB cable.

    Windows automatically detects and adds your printer to Printers & scanners.

  12. From the Printers & scanners window, confirm your printer name displays in the list. This can take a few minutes before the printer shows up in the list.

  13. Load paper into the input tray, and then print a document or photo.
