In HP consumer notebooks, the warranty period for both the computer and the battery may vary by country.
Details:

HP defines batteries as a standard component of the HP hardware product that can be either standard (non-long life), or long-life battery (LLB or XL). A Standard battery can be further defined has having 300 cycles, while a long-life battery has 1000 cycles. A cycle is the period when a battery drains below a certain level and is then recharged. When a battery check is performed, the cycle count is obtained from the battery firmware.
Warranty terms for all TYPES Of Batteries:
  1. Standard, removable batteries
  2. Standard, non-removable batteries
  3. Long-life, removable batteries
  4. Long-life, non-removable batteries
  5. After Market Option (AMO) Batteries
All types of batteries, by default, only have a 1 Year warranty unless an HP Care Pack with Battery Support is purchased. This extends battery support to the full term of the HP Care Pack purchased.
General Battery Warranty Terms and HP Care Pack with Battery Support Terms:
The battery warranty and HP Care Pack with Battery Support only covers failures resulting from defects in materials or workmanship. The warranty does not cover the following:
  • Decrease in capacity that occurs over time and with use of the batteries.

  • Failure or diminished capacity resulting from accidents, misuse, abuse, contamination, or other external causes.

  • Failure or diminished capacity resulting from improper calibration.

  • Failure or diminished capacity resulting improper or inadequate maintenance.

  • Battery life expectancy varies depends on product configuration and usage, including but not limited to product model, applications running, power management settings, and product features.
NOTE:
You may be required to run an HP diagnostic test to determine if a battery failure is covered by the warranty.
If you have a separate written agreement with HP, you may also have other legal rights that this document does not exclude, limit or suspend.
