HP Designjet Printers - AutoCAD(TM) 10/11/12, How to Change Line Width

Issue:
Changing line widths in AutoCAD(TM) 10/11/12 for output to an HP Designjet printer.
Solution
Changing pen parameters in the software are only effective on HP Designjet printers when the printer palette is set to SOFTWARE. Otherwise, adjustments for pen width and shading (or color on an HP Designjet 650C printer) are made on the palette selected on the printer.
In both AutoCAD 10 and 11, the line width for a pen is mapped to pen speed, whether using the protected or real mode driver. The default pen width is 0.35 mm, which equals a line width number, or speed, of "1." Use the chart below to define additional pen widths.
In order to change the pen widths in AutoCAD 12:
  1. Type Plot at the command prompt.
  2. Click Pen Assignments.
  3. Highlight the pen number to be changed.
  4. Highlight the value in the Pen Width dialog box.
  5. Type in the new width value.
To deselect a pen, click the pen again. Otherwise, more than one pen may be selected at a time. This will result in changing the default for more than one pen.
 note:
AutoCAD normally defaults to using English units of measurement. To enter pen width in metric units (printer standard), change the units of measurement to MM under the Paper Size and Orientation sections of the PLOT menu. Once all of the pen sizes have been entered, units of measurement can be changed back to inches.
