HP DraftPro DXL and HP DraftPro EXL Plotters - Drawing Is Shifted or Accuracy Is Off
A shift occurs in the drawing as it is being plotted out or lines do not meet together when they should when using the HP DraftPro DXL and HP DraftPro EXL plotters.
Determine if the accuracy or line offset problem is in the vertical direction or the horizontal direction. Typically, if the problem is in the vertical direction, it is a problem with media expansion. Some papers are more subject to expansion than others. If expansion during the plot is suspected, try conditioning the paper by letting it drape over the top of the plotter for awhile. It will then do most of its expanding prior to plotting. Another way to troubleshoot is to load the plotter with suitable polyester film and then plot. Polyester film is very stable and not subject to much expansion. When using film, if the shift occurs (usually seen in the horizontal direction).
note:Always try to troubleshoot with HP media to avoid the possibility of incompatibility with other vendors' media.
