HP Designjet 3000CP Series Printers - Assembly Instructions

Introduction

To assemble you will need the following components. These are in the container:

In the Assembly Instructions guide, a symbol with four human figures to the left of a triangle with an exclamation mark inside indicates that four people are recommended to perform the procedure.

Assembly instructions

  1. To move the box you can use the eight handles provided on the box.
  2. Remove the plastic handles from both sides of the cardboard box.
  3. Remove the Outer Sleeve from the shipping container.
  4. Remove the boxes containing the stand assembly, the Take up reel, and the boxes containing the accessories.
  5. Remove the plastic handles from both sides of the cardboard box containing the printer.
  6. Remove the inner box from the printer assembly.
  7. Remove the Media rolls from the shipping container.
  8. Unpack the tray and stand components.
    Important: Do not remove the anti-slip material.
    note:
    Assemble all the Stand Components on a flat surface.
  9. Attach the Leg Assemblies to the Cross Brace Assembly.
  10. Secure the Leg Assemblies with the four Screws making sure they are completely tightened.
  11. Install four screws into the legs. Later the Take up reel will be installed onto them.
  12. Carefully clip the Base Tray Assembly onto the two Feet Assemblies. With the wheels on the Feet Assemblies pointing upward, the curve in the tray should be in the opposite position as the curve in the Feet Assemblies.

  13. Position the Feet Assemblies on the Leg Assemblies.
    note:
    Do not remove the Anti-slip material.
  14. Secure the Feet Assemblies with the six Screws.
  15. Important: Check that the screws are fully tightened in the stand assembly.
  16. Locate the position of the handles on the rear of the printer. There should be three meters from this point that are clear of obstructions.
  17. Carefully pull aside the plastic covering and put the Stand Assembly on the Printer and secure with four screws.
  18. Carefully tilt the printer so that the back in toward the surface you are working on.
  19. Carefully lift the printer into the upright position.
  20. Tear off the anti-slip material from all the wheels.
    note:
    You do not need to lift the printer.
  21. Remove the end packings and the plastic covering from the printer.
  22. Remove the packing straps from the printer window.
  23. Remove the protective covering from the printer window.
  24. Remove the protective packings from inside the printer.
  25. Open the right hand cover and attach the front panel overlay onto the front panel. Make sure that all of the LEDs can be seen through the overlay.
  26. Install the pocket onto the back of the printer.
  27. Put the Media Knife, the Quick-Reference Guide, and the Print Quality Quick-Reference Card into the pocket.
  28. Unpack the components.
  29. The main parts of the Take up reel are:
    • Right hand assembly
    • Left hand assembly
    • Take up reel sensor

  30. Locate the screws. Loosen them if necessary.
  31. Open the clamp and install the left hand assembly onto the screws.
  32. Pull the left hand assembly down so that they are fully installed onto the screws.
  33. Close the clamp and secure with the clamp screw.
  34. Tighten up the two screws
  35. Open the clamp and install the right hand assembly onto the screws.
  36. Pull the left hand assembly down so that they are fully installed onto the screws.
  37. Close the clamp and secure with the clamp screw.
  38. Tighten up the two screws.
  39. Unscrew the screw on the sensor assembly (but do not remove it) and open the clamp.
  40. Install the front of the sensor assembly onto the front of the right foot assembly.
  41. Lower the sensor into a position where it is clipped under the foot assembly.

  42. Slide the sensor assembly hard up against the leg and the lower sensor arm.
  43. Tighten the screw to secure the arm in place and connect the sensor cable.
  44. Connect the power cord into the rear of the Take up reel.
  45. Assemble the spindle assembly.
  46. Ensue the spindle lock is open.
  47. Install the Take up reel spindle into the printer by pushing firmly on each end of the spindle, the right hand side first, then the left hand side first.
