How to control the pen speed and force on the HP ColorPro plotter.
The plotter is designed to plot at a predetermined speed (40 cm/s) suitable for creating plots on standard plotter paper using paper pens. For best quality when using transparency pens with glossy presentation paper or transparency film, however, a slower pen speed is recommended (10 cm/s).
If you are using a graphics software package, it may allow you to specify whether you want to plot on paper or transparency film. If so, select "transparency" (slow pen speed) when using transparency pens to obtain optimum plot quality.
If you are programming your plotter, use the VS HP-GL instruction to change the pen speed to 10 cm/s when you intend to use transparency pens. Example: VS10
The pen force is not changeable on the ColorPro, therefore, the ColorPro does not support the FS instruction. The actual value is APPROXIMATELY 24 grams.
