Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Deskjet 2510 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 All-in-One Printer Series

This document is for the HP Deskjet 2510 and Deskjet Ink Advantage 2515 All-in-One printers.
The quality of a printed document or photo is not as expected. The procedures in this document should help with streaked or faded printouts, color or black ink not printing, documents with blurred or fuzzy text, ink streaks or smears, and other print quality problems.
I do not have the full HP software
You need the full HP software to complete some of the troubleshooting steps in this document. If you have not installed the full feature software, follow these steps to download the most recent version of the printer software, and then proceed with the solutions in this document.
  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer and the computer (if you already connected it). If the printer is connected to your network, leave it connected.
  3. Use one of the available methods to identify your printer model.
    The software and driver results page displays when the printer model is identified.

  4. Check to see if your operating system is correctly identified. If your operating system is not correct, click Edit, select your operating system and version from the drop-down menus, and then click Update.
  5. Click Driver - Product Installation Software, and then click Download.
  6. If an HP Download and Install Assistant window displays, select Use HP Download and Install Assistant (Recommended) or Download only, and then click Next.

  7. Follow the on-screen instructions to save the driver to your computer.
  8. If you used the Download only method, open or run the driver file, and then follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
