The cooling fans run at higher speeds and for longer periods of time on the thin and light computer models listed in the SCOPE. This is necessary to maintain optimum system temperatures even when the computer is operating under a light load. The resulting higher fan noise levels may be noticeable, especially in quiet environments.

A new fan algorithm has been developed to minimize ramping of the fan during certain workloads which may cause a higher fan noise perception. The new algorithm is included with the minimum BIOS revisions listed below:
