Most liquid-crystal display (LCD) control panel messages are status messages that display information about the current operation of the printer. In addition, the printer displays warning messages, error messages, and critical error messages. This document contains a brief description of each message category, explains the messages, and recommends what action to take to resolve any problem that is being reported.
To resolve a message, follow the instructions displayed on the LCD control panel. If following these instructions does not resolve the message, press and hold (power button) to turn off the printer, and then turn on the printer again. If the message persists after performing all of the recommended actions, contact an HP-authorized service or support provider.
note:Any button pressed during the 10-second display of an auto-continuable error message will override the auto-continue feature and the function of the button pressed will take precedence. For example, pressing (cancel job button) will cancel the print job.
