BESCHREIBUNG

Highly recommended firmware upgrade: amongst other enhancements; it optimizes the Carriage Rail Cleaning & Lubrication triggers to help keep units well maintained and running at their best.

After the firmware has been upgraded, the printer will start/continue (depending on previous FW version) to display requests for printer maintenance when needed, depending on the printer’s usage and/or the customer’s workflow.

UMFANG

The following models of the HP Designjet L26500 printer with firmware version 8.0.0.3 or lower should be upgraded.

The current firmware version can be identified by checking the printer’s Embedded Web Server (EWS) or through the printer’s Front Panel.

Using the Embedded Web Server

Go to the Embedded Web Server (type the IP address of the printer from any web browser), and click the Setup tab.
Select the Firmware Update option.

The printer’s current firmware version is listed on the Firmware Update page.

Using the Front Panel

Go to the Main Menu.
Select Information → View Printer Information. The information contains the printer's current firmware version.

Upgrade the printer firmware to version 9.0.0.2 by following the instructions below:

Go to http://www.hp.com/go/L26500fw and click one of the printer types.
On the next page, click your operating system.
Next, under the Firmware category, click the Download button to download the new firmware. Extract the fmw file from the downloaded package. The name of the latest file (as of today) available to download is SP-SP_09_00_00.2_mvl40-x86-opt_B.signed.fmw.
If the printer is connected over the network, go to the Embedded Web Server (type the IP address of the printer from any web browser), and click the Setup tab.
Click Update and follow the instructions on the screen.
