This document is for LaserJet Pro P1102w and P1109w printers.
Install the HP print driver and software on your Windows or Mac computer to set up a wireless connection on your printer.
note:Internet access is not required for you to install your printer with a wireless connection. However, you do need Internet access to use Web Services, get printer updates, and to download drivers from the HP website.
note:As an alternative method to downloading the software, you can use the installation CD.
note:If your printer was set up and working with Mac OS X v10.6 Snow Leopard or OS X v10.7 Lion, your printer continues to work as it did before you updated your Mac to a later OS X version. The HP printer driver and software you previously installed updates automatically during the operating system update process.
note:This method requires a WPS-enabled wireless router to connect to the printer.
note:If the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) method is not successful, try another connection method.
note:AirPort Utility 6v.3 is the last version that supports the Wireless Client Setup Assistant. If you have a newer version, choose a different method to connect your printer to a wireless network.
note:If you are prompted to install any additional software for your printer, click Install, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.
note:Quit and restart any applications that were open before adding the printer to use the updated HP software features.
note:If your network does not have wireless security, leave the Security Mode set to Open System (No Authentication).
note:This removes the USB connection from the list so that the only entry for your printer is the wireless connection.
note:AirPrint is not available if the printer connects to the Mac, an AirPort Base Station, or a Time Capsule with a USB cable.
note:Make sure the printer kind is Bonjour or Bonjour Multifunction.
