DESCRIPTION

When using BitLocker Drive Encryption and attempting to encrypt two partitions simultaneously, the operation fails and the following error is displayed:

BitLocker Drive Encryption

An error occurred.

The disk has one or more errors. Run "chkdsk/r".

The issue is due to the firmware version on some hard drives that shipped with computers in the SCOPE. The firmware will not allow encrypting two partitions at the same time and BitLocker interprets this as a disk error.
