The following error message appears after HP Support Assistant (HPSA) is upgraded to version 9.6.838.0:
Application enabling services currently unavailable
This occurs on computers that downloaded the update from the Microsoft Store. This does not occur when the app is downloaded and installed directly to the computer.

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue on computers that have already downloaded HPSA version 9.6.838.0 installed, perform the following steps to manually re-install HPSA.
  1. Right-click the Windows Start Menu icon and click Apps & Features .
  2. Scroll down to locate HP Support Assistant.
  3. Click Uninstall. A dialog box appears to Keep Preferences. Click No.
  4. Close any browser window that might open.
    note:
    If HPSA is not currently installed and A newer version of HPSA is installed message is displayed, proceed to Step 5.
  5. Go to the
    HP Support Assistant page
    .
  6. Before you click on download HPSA button, press Ctrl + R on the keyboard to clear any browser cache. Then click on the Download button.
  7. Once downloaded, initiate the install and click the Next button to complete the installation. Once the installation is successful, the message, HP Support Assistant has been installed successfully appears.
  8. Click the Start Menu and type, HP Support Assistant or click the HPSA icon on the desktop to open the app.
